About Valentin Carayol


Born in Paris in 1989, Valentin Carayol is a composer, concert pianist, and music teacher. 

He began studying piano at a very young age through private lessons with Lionel Dibot. 

From 2007 to 2013, he pursued his higher musical studies at the École Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot, in Odile Catelin-Delangle’s piano class, completing the advanced professional performance cycle.
Between 2011 and 2014, Valentin also refined his artistry in Gabriel Tacchino’s class at the Schola Cantorum.
He studied chamber music with J.-L. Caillard and A. Gasparov.
In musical writing, Valentin studied composition with Stéphane Delplace at the conservatory and also received private guidance from Christian Manen.

A laureate of several piano and chamber music competitions, including the Leopold Bellan International Competition, Madeleine de Valmalète, and the Concours Musical de France, Valentin Carayol regularly performs in solo recitals and chamber music concerts.

He served as a music theory teacher from 2014 to 2015 at the Sèvres Conservatory, and from 2016 to 2017 at the Le Plessis-Robinson Conservatory.

He currently teaches privately in Paris.

Valentin Carayol was co-founder and artistic director of the Après-Midis Musicales du Château de Bel Ébat in Marcoussis (Essonne), a quarterly concert series in which performers personally introduce the works they present.

His interest in new technologies also led him to collaborate with the startup Meloflow as a composer and arranger, and as an expert contributor to this innovative music-learning application, particularly focused on piano education.IMG_6764 This collaboration culminated in a demonstration of Meloflow before Their Majesties the King and Queen of the Netherlands at NUMA in March 2016.

In September 2021, he was invited by Professor Yves Coppens to participate in a symposium at MUCEM in Marseille on the theme of the Future, where he spoke about the future of Music and gave a concert.
Having formed a close friendship with Professor Coppens, Valentin Carayol composed and performed a piece entitled Sur le mot Homme for Yves Coppens’ funeral at La Madeleine Church in Paris in July 2022.

Valentin Carayol is the author and composer of the musical tale on the origins of Humanity entitled L’Ancêtre, produced by RED MAMA PRODUCTIONS (Pascale Breugnot – Pascal Wyn). Valentin Carayol received the award for “Most Distinguished Musician” in the Composer category at the IBLA Grand Prize in both 2023 and 2024, organized by the IBLA Foundation in New York City, an international music competition.
