I am not a geologist. I am a passionate amateur. I learned by reading, walking, making mistakes, and trying to understand what rocks, landscapes, and traces of the past have to tell us. And one day, I had the chance to cross paths with Professor Yves Coppens. His attentiveness and kind gaze strengthened my belief that a book like this deserved to exist.

This is not a manual. Nor is it a simplistic popular science book. It is an initiation — serious yet accessible — for those who want to understand the Earth without being specialists. A book written by an amateur, for other curious amateurs.
